#1 - Blackjack.  Blackjack is easy to learn, fun, but also a very social game.  Blackjack tables seat 6 people so a great icebreaker for guests who don't necessarily know each other. #2 - Craps.  Many people want to learn to play, but would never play in the casino because they don't know how.  What a great time to learn and socialize while having a great time.  Guys love the ladies rolling the dice.  Another big hit at your reception.  We have an 8 person and 14 person craps table.  You can't go wrong with a couple blackjack tables and a craps table at your reception.  People will love it and walk away from your reception knowing that they had a great night to celebrate your special day!

Your wedding day is an event where people come to celebrate the love you and your to-be will vow to one another, however, your guests will not only just come for the “I-do’s”, but the entertainment you provide them as well. The food you serve will of course will be delicious (hopefully), and the cutting of the wedding cake is always fun to watch, but most of all, the music you play will be what makes your wedding fun and certainly one to remember, as well as the Disc Jockey you choose. Of course you can have an extravagant wedding venue, adorned with the most gorgeous arrangements of blooming flowers, and yes, your guests will definitely remember the elegance of each element of your décor, but will they be saying how much they “enjoyed” your wedding, and how much fun it was? If you are seeking to create a wedding your guests will certainly be entertained by, you have to set the right atmosphere, and this can be done with the music you choose. The right Disc Jockeys, such as our team here at Black Tie Productions, and the right choice of music are a must for making your big day one to remember, so if you want to ensure this happens, read on for some inspirational tips: Uniqueness is key. When you are choosing a DJ, it is important to find one who can offer you a fun vibe, a variety of music and most importantly, an atmosphere that all your guests will want to take part dancing in. You don’t want to hire just another pick out of the litter, but a DJ who will actually take the time to get to know you as a couple and what you expect for your vision of your wedding and music. Also, here at Black Tie Productions, we not only offer DJ services, but many others as well, such as uplighting and photo booths, so working with a company who can bundle services for you is always a plus. Ideas need developed. You haven’t found a great DJ until you find one that works with you, one that takes each and every element of your interests and what you seek for your big day and incorporates it entirely. Music just shouldn’t be played, it should be thought out for not only you, but your guests too, and it should be customized to fit your wedding specifically. Developing ideas with your DJ is a must, allow them to promote ideas for you and take in your ideas as well, so the perfect playlist is created. Musical tastes. Everyone is an individual, no two people are the same and no two people will like every single song, so if you like to rock out to the classics and your fiancé is into pop, it is important to include both. However, when considering the type of genres you want played at your wedding, consider that you will have a multitude of guests all with their own taste in music as well, so a huge variety is a great idea. Choose a DJ who will work with you and offer you all the sounds you seek; variety really is key to a good time on the dance floor. Dancing is fun, especially when the music is loud and you can really get into it! But, it is highly important to consider the overall atmosphere of the room, you want to be able to mingle with guests and actually hear what they are saying, while also having the music up loud enough to where the guests on your dance floor can enjoy themselves too. So, again, working with a DJ who is experienced, such as Black Tie Productions (since 1982) will ensure that the room is comfortable, with no overpowering noise, but just loud enough to maintain a perfect environment. Are you still searching for a great team of Disc Jockeys who can also take your wedding to the next level with beautiful uplighting and fun photo booths? If so, contacting Black Tie Productions is a must! Why? Because our highly experienced staff will make your Michigan wedding one to remember, for both you and your guests!

If you are seeking to create a memorable moment for your wedding reception, Black Tie Productions has gathered all of the tips to creating the perfect first dance: • Lyrics and rhythm. Songs come in many different genres, and each person has their own taste in regards to the type of music they prefer. From rock to rap, you definitely have a large variety of options to choose from when it comes to picking the perfect song for your first dance. When deciding on yours, think about the rhythm first, are you wanting a nice and slow song? Or maybe the opportunity to put on more of a performance for your guests with a more upbeat option. Once you have decided on your song speed, next try and incorporate lyrics within it that represent the love story you and your to-be share. Find a song with loving words and relevant topics to your life to make it a more personal experience. • Your moves. If you are like most of the world’s population, you probably weren’t born a natural dancer, so consider taking some choreography or dance lessons beforehand as it certainly wouldn’t hurt. Most often, people don’t dance regularly, so the last thing you want is to get up in front of your guests without any practice. Music plays such a huge role in your wedding day; You will walk down the aisle to a beautiful song, share your first dance together as newlyweds and create a musical environment for all of your guests to dance to, and let’s not forget that your music will provide a great background sound for your wedding day, as you make toasts, cut the cake and toss the bouquet. So, when it comes to planning the music for your big day, it is important to find the right DJ, one that will fit the feel of your atmosphere and complement the mood. Once you have narrowed down your search to a few promising contestants, there are a few questions you can ask that will help narrow down your few to one promising DJ, which is why Black Tie Productions has gathered the top questions to ask your DJ prior to booking them, so be sure to continue reading for some great advice: How much experience do you have as a wedding DJ? As they say, practice makes perfect, so you will surely want to make sure that your DJ is not just an amateur who bought some equipment online and decided to give DJing a try. Your DJ’s past wedding experience shows that they know the ropes when it comes to weddings, and that they know how to handle a possibly very stressful situation. An experienced DJ will not drop the ball at your wedding, they will shine as they play every important song that you requested and they will feel the mood of the crowd, being able to adjust their music as needed. So, do not hire an amateur DJ that needs constant supervision, and make sure that your DJ knows what they are doing. What type of music will you provide for a mixed crowd? It is likely that you, your partner and your wedding guests will not all have the same taste in music, which is normal, as each person is an individual. And, seeing at it is your DJ’s job to keep everyone entertained, happy and dancing at your reception, it is crucial that they know the best type of music to be playing. With your guest’s mixed taste in music, your DJ now needs to try and appease your mixed crowd, so, asking what music your DJ will have will allow you to judge if their music fits well with your mixed crowd, and your taste too. What is your equipment like? And do you have a backup? Weddings are usually large events with a lot of people, therefore, your DJ should have a good sound system so that the entire venue can hear the music. Size however is not everything, and although your DJ may have large speakers, you still want to make sure that the speakers are of good quality, as quality speakers result in quality sound. It is also important to also make sure that your DJ has a backup, just in case something was to happen, so that they will still be providing entertainment at your wedding. Finding the perfect DJ may take some time, but when you ask these important questions, you will be able to judge their ability to perform up to par on your big day. Here at Black Tie Productions, we provide over 30 years of experience, offering qualityDJs, beautiful lighting and entertaining Photo Booths, so be sure to contact us today to begin planning your Michigan entertainment.

These days, wedding uplighting is skyrocketing in popularity, and understandably so, as using the proper uplighting can add quite the dramatic flair to your big day. Your venue is beautiful, obviously that is why you chose it, but adding some uplighting can really send your decor through the roof with beauty and uniqueness. It is important to choose the proper uplighting for your wedding so that it accentuates the décor, instead of hindering it. When it comes to using uplighting, you can be bold, or subtle, but no matter which you choose to utilize, the outcome will be stunning. Uplighting does not just benefit your venue, it also adds beauty to your wedding video, photos and the overall ambiance of your space. Here at Black Tie Productions, we understand what it takes to create a gorgeous atmosphere through uplighting, which is why we have gathered some of the top tips of uplighting for you, so be sure to continue reading to gain some knowledge: Colors. Did you know that you can use colorful uplighting to enhance the mood of your wedding guests? It is true! Vibrant colors, such as magenta, blue or red, are an ideal choice to really add a liveliness to the room, bringing forth a welcoming atmosphere and enhancing each element of your setting. LED or incandescent. A large number of lighting contractors still use incandescent light fixtures when uplighting, however, it is not recommended. First, and possibly the most obvious, lights can produce a lot of heat, and the incandescent fixtures are no different, as it poses as a recipe for a fire disaster. These fixtures also require a lot more power to run. Also, due to using gel paper to produce color, their palette is limited. So, overall, LED offers more color choices, is safer and is more energy efficient. Placement. Generally, uplighting is placed around the perimeter of a venue, casting beams of lights among the walls for a gorgeous and colorful outcome. Where you place your lights is of importance, as they will be showcasing certain areas of your venue, so you should certainly consider podiums, walls and even outdoors, among trees and the exterior of your venue, for a stunningly ornate appearance. If you want your wedding to be remembered and envied, consider using the dramatic touch of uplighting. Here at Black Tie Productions, our knowledge of uplighting allows us to enhance the wedding vision that our couples have, making their setting even more beautiful. In addition to lighting, we also offer DJs and Photo Booths, so be sure to contact us today so we can begin enhancing your big day.

Uplighting is only becoming more popular as time goes on, as it transforms wedding venues into magical wonderlands. Not only does uplighting add that little extra dazzle to your big day, but it complements the overall vision and atmosphere of your wedding. The past couple of weeks we have discussed the best ways to utilize uplighting to add an extra flair to your wedding, allowing you to create a beautiful sight that all of your guests can admire. This week, Black Tie Productions has gathered a few more tips to help you plan your wedding uplighting, to best complement your venue, so be sure to continue reading to gain some knowledge: Safety first. Safety is important with any wedding décor, and uplighting fixtures are no different. It is important to keep light fixtures close to the wall so that they stay out of everyone’s way, so that your guests do not trip over them. Usually, some fixtures are placed further away from walls, such as chairs and railings, so it is important to utilize a professional who can properly construct your lighting around these structures, to create safe environment. Set the tone. A good story catches your attention from the very beginning, and your wedding story is no different. It is important to “wow” your guests from the moment that they walk into your venue. Using uplighting to set the mood and display a little pizzazz for your wedding day setting will help you set the expectations high, so that it is easier to send the festivities into a whole other level of breathtaking appearances. Choose professionals. You already have so much on your plate when it comes to planning a wedding, and while it is always nice to save a few bucks, you do not need to compromise your wedding appearance with a little extra cash. There is a lot of work that goes into setting up and creating uplighting, so it will probably take away from the little time that you have to get yourself ready for the wedding, or even last minute wedding details, if you choose to do it yourself, not to mention the work that goes into taking these fixtures down when you should be on your way to your honeymoon, so leave it in the hands of the professionals! Take these tips into consideration when planning your wedding uplighting, as it will help to prevent any hassles on your wedding day, and it will bring your vision together in an awe-inspiring way. Here at Black Tie Productions, we want to create your wedding to shine with gorgeous lighting, as well as entertaining Photo Booths and DJs, so be sure to contact us today to begin planning your Michigan big day.
